Which kilt is right for me?
We have a page on our site titled "Which kilt is right for me?" where we break down our different kilt models and their attributes and customer traits. The page has needed an overhaul for a while now, so we finally re-did the page.
At the bottom of the page, you'll find a chart with tech specs about each kilt. Some of you may find it interesting when compare the models side by side:

Thank you Rocky, that is very helpful to me. When reading the various posts here in the past, mainly from North America, who are talking, enthusiastically, about your wears and service. I have only had the information gleaned from various discussions held here and I suspect that I have made more than one incorrect assumption in my time here. Now I can read about and compare your wears so much more accurately.

Rocky ,
That is probably the best presentation of the various types of kilts that I have ever seen .
You first offer up each type of kilt ... one by one ... with a picture and full explanation . Then you offer a comparison chart at the bottom . I would have to think this presentation would be extremely helpful to any relatively new kilt wearer ... and ... informative to those of us who are most familiar with the traditional 8 yarders ( myself included ) .
Well done !!!
Cheers and Thanks !

Rocky,
You did an excellent job. It is easy to review and compare. The only trouble is that now I want one of each right now. I am hooked.
Again, thanks for the information.
Tom

Rocky,
I was engaged in a rather heated discussion on kilts over the weekend, and have to say that your "Which Kilt is Right for Me" article did a fantastic job of backing me up. I have read it in the past and thought it was well done, but here you passed the "can it convince someone who is angry and may have had a beer or 6 too many" test with flying colors. I bet you didn't even know that was a test until right now!
Anyway, again, splendid work, and I hope this gave you a chuckle!

I notice Rocky that all your kilts are noted as made in the USA except the Premiere 8 yard kilt which is noted made in the USA and Scotland. Do you and Kelly sometimes jump the pond and make the kilts there?

I WISH!
Occasionally, depending on our "Spring City kiltmakers" workload / turnaround time, we opt to use a kiltmaker in Scotland who makes 8 Yard kilts to our exact specs and standards. They're literally identical to our construction, just made by talented staff in Scotland, not Spring City, PA, USA.
If we're busy and get a pipe band order of 40 kilts, rather than make all of our regular customers wait 16 or 18 weeks for their kilt, we have the option to pass off the labor for those kilts to our friends in Scotland. Each Scottish made kilt is shipped to us for inspection before shipping out to a customer. It allows us to keep our quality and timeframes consistent even if we get a sudden surge of orders. In the interest of being 100% honest, we list that some are made in Scotland in the "which kilt is right for me" page notes for the Premier kilt.
Please note: This is ONLY for our Premier kilts. EACH and EVERY other kilt we sell (Casual, Semi Trad, 5 Yard Wool, & Top Stitched 8 Yarder) is made in our shop here in Spring City.
