Life is Good!
Yesterday, I won the local Salvaltion Army's silent auction for a classic 1975 Triumph Spitfire. Today, my postal carrier delivers this package from USA Kilts.

I eat postal carriers for lunch!

Yeah, pics to follow of what is in the box. I promise!

Mael: That's exciting news! - so exciting that I think you ought to post it twice!
Your dog doesn't seem too happy about it, though. It must not be a bone box.
But, I can't wait to see it. I just ordered a tweed jacket and vest from Rocky at a fantastic sale price posted on the forum. I'll post a pic when it arrives - surely tomorrow or the next day.
That's how I handle Jonesing, by the way - like the "Free Beer Tomorrow" sign in the pub.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

As promised!
I’ve been diligent this summer in getting to a lean weight and a week ago realized with a few more pounds to be lost my Malcolm tartan kilts would be too big for the VA Scottish Games on Labor Day Weekend. So I placed a rush order with USA Kilts for Malcolm tartan casual kilt. Now, I have one in a jeans waist, but wanted this one to be at the natural waist for a more ‘formal’ look.
Along with the kilt, I ordered kilt and sporran belts, and tartan flashes. Now I do at times wear those tartan flashes with the matching kilt; I know to some’s chagrin. I wear them most of the time with my khaki kilts on the job at the big box store. When conversations come with customers about my ‘heritage’ I can point to may family tartan. I have one pair and wanted a second.
The kilt was out the door in six days from the order and two days to get here. It is masterfully tailored by Ian.
Already the kilt has been put to the test. As this afternoon at our local brewery, the Blue & Grey one of our local Celtic music bands was having a new CD release party. I got a big smile of approval from one of the waitresses. Later stopping at another big box store (not where I work) I got in to conversation with the cashier who told me his roommate wears a kilt frequently (Campbell tartan). I mentioned the upcoming Highland Games and he said he was planning to attend so I told him to be sure to stop by the MacCallum Malcolm Clan tent.
Okay, so I am little long winded and here are the required poses.

I really like red hose with this tartan as it really pops. Yes, I am flash/garter less. I like the look with these slouch socks from Sock Dreams that I keep up and with a turned down cuff.
A happy customer!

Ern, very nice! I love the Malcolm tartan! Simply gorgeous.
Crash, my Holyrood USAK casual is just under five yards. Everything, including the 11.5oz Marton Mills P/V, has a nice swing when Rocky and the lads are stitching it up!

Two of my kilts are 5 yds too and right enough they swing great and are a little lighter to wear for a full day at the games.
I'm just trying to be the person my dog thinks I am.

Looks good Ern, especially for a kilt crafted in six days. I too, like the red hose with that kilt.
I appreciate that you explained how and why it all came about and also, for sharing Rocky's specifications for the kilt.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle.
