    New Jacket enquiry

    Rocky

I am interested in your tweed jackets and I understand that they are made this side of the pond. If I ordered one could it be sent direct from the manufacturer to me or would it have to cross the Atlantic to you and then you forward it on to me back across the Atlantic? Is there some sort of customs rules that prevent this as if it was sent to me directly from the maker I would avoid the dread customs / import duty.

We always bring the jackets (and ALL products) into the shop to inspect for quality. Yes, it does add a week or so, BUT we can make sure everything is correct before sending it out. The other issues is that if we did have it shipped directly to you, there would be VAT as the jackets are coming from the UK.

Thanks for the prompt reply Rocky I had forgotten about the Vat element. I can also understand that goods need to be checked before dispatch to the customer.

That's part of our "double check everyone's work" type mindset. It's our customer and our name on the line, so we try to double check everything before it leaves to ensure it's 100% correct. Mistakes cost time and money that you can't get back, so doing it correctly the first time is much cheaper.
