tomorrow marks exactly one year since i picked up my new kilt from usa kilts on a cold, dark november afternoon. today it remains not only my most prized piece of apparel, but my most prized possession. i've worn it with pride to many special occasions over the course of the year, including thanksgiving dinner, two christmas dress events at my daughters' school, a christmas party at the neighbor's house, a christmas party for my football club, christmas eve dinner at my father's house, christmas dinner at my mother's house, in a st patrick's day parade with my daughter's irish dance school (from which a photo appeared in the newspaper), a st patrick's day dinner at a neighbor's house and out for a drink later that evening, at easter dinner, at a highland games, at a 50th wedding anniversary celebration, at a church service honoring my mother's 30 years of service to the church at which she was given proclaimations from the mayor, the governor and the state legislature, and most recently at a funeral.
with the holidays upon us, the whole cycle starts again.
each and every time i wear it, i do so with great care and great pride. where ever i wear it i always receive warm welcomes and i always tell my admirers that my kilt was made by rocky roeger at usa kilts.
thank you, rocky.
