    Talking New USA Kilts mini kilt!

    I bought a friend of mine a mini kilt in MacDonald of Clanranald as a surprise. After six long weeks of waiting for it, it finally came in! It looks... ahem... amazing... on her. But she wouldn't let me take a pic of her yet. I'll get a pic on Thursday when we go out drinking... I know, pics or it didn't happen ;)

    Also got a Buzz Kidder sporran from Rocky and co. It's huge! But looks great. Less formal and more roomy than my other black sporran.

    Thanks, Rocky!

    I could do with a huge sporran. Could you describe it a bit more?

    Thumbs up Buzz sporrans

    Just put 'Buzz Kidder' in the search function and you'll find a lot of positive reviews! I have 2 Buzz sporrans I use for daywear often, "Highland Ribbed" and "Celtic Woven" styles. They are large,(8 inches tall by 8-1/2 wide) nicely made from thick, soft and durable leather. I can put my fat wallet, phone, keys, folding knife and sometimes a small camera in there, with no problems. I think they are about the best bang for your sporran buck out there.

    I wouldn't say it's HUGE, but it is a bit bigger than a standard day sporran:

    Hummm interesting those measurements there. My day sporran is pretty much of the same dimentions and in another thread it was observed(nicely) that my sporran looked a tad small. I, at the time, said that I had never thought about it before and now that I have and armed with the above information I am even more sure that my sporran is not too small.

    Well, I did those two measurments quickly with the sporran laying flat. I guess those numbers alone don't really give a good picture of how roomy the Kidder sporran is compared to the more "traditional'"designs I have. I'll say this, out of all the sporrans I use, they're the only ones I can stick both fists into!
    I might take some photos later and start a new thread compairing them.

    Oh, and about the Mini-kilt;

    It's a question of scale. isn't it? What seems like a large sporran to a smaller man may seem small to a larger man. I have the Buzz Kidder in question myself and while the size of the sporran itself seems right, the opening of the pouch feels small to me (and I am by no means a "big guy"). Perhaps that's good as it helps to keep yer stuff in the bag but it feels a little tight now and then. We have had several of the members comment on the size of a sporran's opening in the past...probably because there's a difference between just slipping your hand into the opening and then trying to extract the closed hand with a wallet or cell phone in it...try it yourself.

    A very quality sporran, though...

    ...and, yes...let's get on to the mini-kilts....been trying to talk Mrs. Argonian into one (and subsequently out of one) for a while now and a "see how good this looks" photo would certainly help the cause.

    Best

    Thank you so much Zardos and Rocky!

    And yes, let's see and hear more about the mini kilt.
