Ramsay semi-traditional---does anything need to be said?

    Gents (and ladies):

Friday was a good day on many levels, and one of them was that my jones was kiboshed----the mailman brought in my USAK Semi-trad in Ramsay. Wheeee doggies! (Jubiliant expression.)

People who know more about kilts, and who can express themselves much more lucidly, have already expounded on the kind of kilt Rocky and Kelly produce. Me, I'll just sit here and say, "Wheeee doggies!"

Wow. It fits like it was made just for me---oh wait, it WAS made just for me. I asked Rocky to leave off the underapron strap, just use velcro, but otherwise it's the "standard" USA Semi-traditional.

The fit and finish are gorgeous, the pleats deep and sharp, the right side buckles and straps classy and functional.

When it arrived, I was working in my SWK Irish National economy kilt, which I like for its light weight. Since I shrunk out of its proper sizing, I've cut the buckle and strap loose from the underapron, and I find this SWK to be a comfortable and useful kilt.

Then I put on the USAK Ramsay. Pardon my repetition, but WOW. In the hot Houston summer, the semi-trad feels . . . just right, it's like I'm wearing mithrail instead of chain mail.

I've had a USAK casual in Farquharson for a little over a year now, and I've really enjoyed it, but the extra material on the semi-trad simply takes that one or two steps further.

I can see why Riverkilt is stocking up on them.

Thanks for the glowing review! I'm glad it fits so well and the small modification (velcro on the left hip) worked out well for you.

If you have pics, post 'em! I don't get much "satisfaction" in seeing my work ON people (except Ron MacDonald... he sends 10 pics of EVERY kilt we make him!) as most of our business is still online... once I box up the kilt, it's (usually) never to be seen again!

Ok Rocky, best I can do at the moment. Here's the Hamilton semi trad. Yes, I wear it often and it really has taken a beating and still looks great.

    Hey Rocky,

    ITS THERAPY for me

All my years in cut and sew it was just as you say, ship them out the door and never see them in action.

Hope more folks send you them kilt pics so you can enjoy some of what we do in your fine wares.

Rocky, this is one you made just after you changed the name from traditional to semi traditional. It was an experiment on your part to see about cutting down production time. Still looks great in spite of being beat to hell and gone at family picnics, tavern runs and such assorted madness. It still looks good dressed up and comfortable dressed down.

    hey Norby!

    It's a kicking kilt, isn't it?

My first semi-trad from USAK, but I've a feeling it won't be my last. Wife and I went out tonight, bowled a couple of games, had some beer, then went for some seafood.

Let me put it this way. When it's time to look around for a tank, I'm going to have to ponder long and hard before I order anything but a USAK premier kilt.

    Yeah, they're really that good.

I wear my USAK casual Ramsay all the freakin' time. When it's hot, it's THE kilt to have on.

    Enjoy!
