And so it begins!
Well, it finally happened. I'm now a soon-to-be proud owner of my first kilt! I have officially ordered an American Heritage USAkilt (Casual package), and now I get to experience this infamous anticipation I've read about from all the other members on xmarksthescot.
I look forward to so much!

I have an AH kilt and it's one of my favorites. You won't regret your choice one bit.
Like Tom Petty said, "The waiting is the hardest part." In some cases, though, the hardest part is getting the wife to accept the "justification" for getting one more kilt. The wait is advantageous then...it gives you time to find said justification.

I too am in jonesing mode for both my wife and I. I just ordered my Christmas gift a Semi-traditional PV Holyrood and a couple of weeks ago ordered my wife and ladies kilt in the same tartan. These will be our first USA kilts but I can see more in the future.

This waiting is so intoxicating. And it's only been about a day since I've ordered it. This is going to be a very long wait.
I do have to ask a question, though. I'm intended to wear this kilt very casually, often for kicking around in and trekking about with, but I've read a lot of stuff on this forum that True Waist is better than jeans waist. Should I have opted for the high road, not the low road (so to speak)?

Welcome and congrats to your first kilt! You'll be pleased with anything from USA Kilts - I have a Pennsylvania casual kilt, and wear it often. Wish I had more! Imagine wearing the same pair of pants all the time... so I have a couple other ones on order ;)
I have an 8-yard wool kilt on order, and going after a semi-traditional next!
I do wear mine at or near true waist. It's just more comfortable for me... but it's a personal preference. I got my casual with the intention to wear it at jeans waist (and ordered it a little longer so I don't flash people as easily), but I end up wearing it pretty darn near my true waist anyways. It's about an inch short at true waist, but I'm livin' with it (my bad).

If you just ordered it and are doubting your decision on where to wear it and/or the length of the kilt, give Rocky a call before they get to work on it. If you change your mind or are unsure now, you might not be totally happy with what you get. The craftsmanship will be tip-top, and exactly what you order, but if your order doesn't reflect what you're after you won't get what you want. (I think that made sense.) Just call Rocky on Monday morning, (610-948-4110) or shoot him an email pronto. Once it's made it's made. Either all will be fine after the call and you can rest easy knowing you're getting what you really want, or you'll avoid a potential disappointment. Don't be skeered...he doesn't bite.

Okay, I sent Rocky an E-mail and I'll be talking to him ASAP. I swear, having choices will be the death of me.
Thank you both for your help; no matter what, I'm still ridiculously, stupidly excited. I now understand the phrase "giddy like a schoolgirl".

Okay, the wait is getting a bit unbearable now; my girlfriend and I watched Brave last night and told me she looked forward to see me kilted.
I find myself wrapping plaid towels around my waist at department stores.
I frequent the customer gallery on usakilts.
I have already made two (two!) lists of places I can't wait to wear my kilt.
Time really slows down for the impatient, doesn't it?

Take heart in knowing that everyone on here has gone through just what you are going through now. Hopefully you will have it in time for xmas. But don't forget the most important rule of this site PICTURES or it didn't happen
