And a happy Independence Day to all. (Even those from whom we won our independence.... we're still brothers.)

I was able to participate, yesterday in the Independence Day Parade in Montreat, NC with the local Scottish Society. This afternoon, Tatan Hiker and I will celebrate kilted freedom hiking in the mountains!
Happy Independence Day!

"Every line of strength in American history is one colored with Scottish blood."
-- President Woodrow Wilson
And as I aways note on this date, the Royal Highland Regiment bears no battle honours from its service in North America during the Revolution, as it was rightfully decreed that battle honours should not be displayed from a "war between kith and kin". (emphasis mine)

Fantastic!!
Now off to celebrate the Independence of my Great Nation by blowing up a small portion of it while drinking a fine beer and grilling.
Kilted, of course.
