Happy Birthday, Mr. President
Happy Birthday, Mr. President!
As important as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln have been to the USA, I really think each of them should be recognized on their individual birthday.
Any how, today we celebrate on the USA, Presidents' Day honoring these two distinguished Presidents.

Seems to me we did celebrate both Presidents on their own birthdays. That was when I was in grade school, some five decades ago. I agree - we should go back to the old ways.

Aye, Bob. I remember that too. Here's a bit of history on what happened.

I know this May raise some eyebrows but I have to say it. Note that in doing so it is my intent to make people think, not spread negativity.
The concept of acknowledging one in a leadership position, past and present is in and of itself fairly positive. But, I choose not to celebrate or positively acknowledge mr washigton himself as he was the first leader of the fledgling U.S. to condone and order the use of intentional biological warfair upon its Indigenous People ( my tribe in this case ). It's use was sucessful and set the example for it's continued practice during the continued attempted extermination of many tribes here in N.A. So, pardon me if I choose not to celebrate the life and/or position of this murderer. Thank you, and I now step off of this soapbox..... Enjoy the day tho, with your family and friends if possible, as everyday celebrating life is a good day.

This was the first year at work that we did not have both Lincoln's birthday and Washington's birthday as separate holidays. This was done as a cost savings measure they said, because of the holiday pay involved, but I am not sure that was the real reason, since in lieu of the 2nd holiday they gave us a personal day to be used at any time during the year. I have never bought into the idea that President's day was so we could celebrate the lives and achievements of all the presidents, as I have never heard anyone even talk about other presidents on this day.
