Happy St. Patrick's Day
Have a wonderful and safe St. Patrick's Day to the entire kilted community.
I'm playing a quick 9 this morning in about 30 minutes then off to downtown. I'll be there with my family, watch the parade then back to my house. Toast to my father then dinner...
Just curious on how the rabble will be spending their St. Patrick's Day?

I'm at an Irish pub in Hong Kong enjoying a Guinness, a Black Bush, and all day breakfast. Not a kilt in sight, though a band has been playing some tunes.

Colin,
I'll drink a Guinness this evening for ya! I was gonna go to the big parade in Pittsburgh today, but I decided against fighting the huge crowd and all the traffic jams. Since it's nice out, I'll be biking up over the Laurel Mountains. Hmm, I don't have any bike gear in green
We're having a big Irish dinner this evening, and I'll be wearing the New World Irish kilt that you designed.
Slainte!!!

Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day
The Clan Buchanan originated with Anselan O' Cahan (O'Kyan) King of a province in Ulster whose son Buey Anselan O'Kyan came to Scotland in 1016 AD and was given land in Dal Riata on the shores of Loch Lomond for his help in defeating the Danes. So we are Irish Gaels in origin as are many of the Clans of Western Scotland.
Today I will exercise my green thumb and start to work on my gardens as the weather has been unseasonably warm in New England this year and the frost is already out of the ground.
Later on a dram of Black Bush - not the character of a good Scotch Whisky but serviceable. Then off to a very nice Corn Beef supper prepared by the ladies of our church each year.

Happy St. Paddy's day to all. Going to see the DropKick Murphys tonight, should be a lot of kilts in the crowd.

Re: Happy St. Patrick's Day
Do be careful today and take a designated driver. St. Patrick's day is the number one day of the year for DUIs. So expect I'll be dealing with the residue ere long.
Gotta put my lady on a plane a day early since there's a huge storm coming in tonight and our wee airline can't fly in foul weather so she's leaving a day early....sad to lose such a good driver and "nurse." who tended me so well through my surgery. No - I don't accept help well - but she hung in.
Here's a St. Patrick's Day pic from yesterday at the airport when we went to change her ticket. Great dinner last night at Bonker's - the best food in our little town.

Good ol' USA Kilts semi-trad in Ireland's National with them new cinnamon garter ties and my Northern Arizona Irish Foundation shirt.
Probably the same outfit this morning to go get breakfast at the Ranch House Grill and deliver her to the airport...
