I am debt-free!
Yesterday, my wife and I were able to pay off a personal loan that had been sucking nearly $600 a month out of our budget.
Four years ago, the loan was itself a blessing, because it allowed us to pay off the $30,000 in debt (more than I made in a year) to doctors and others to take care of our oldest daughter's serious illness. But prices have risen, and our income has declined, and the monthly payments were too much -- we were running a $500 a month deficit.
When my co-workers found out, they provided nearly half what we needed to pay the loan off, and a family member came through with most of the rest.
I feel so much better now.

What a wonderful feeling that must be, a real weight off your shoulders Its going to be another six or seven years before we get rid of the mortgage and are debt free, and I can't wait

It's a great feeling to know you are in debt to no one. Unfortunately, that is not an easy task these days. Congrats on your accomplishment and best wishes to you and those who came through to help you out.

It's wonderful to have friends and co-workers like that. You are indeed blessed.
Congratulations on your financial freedom.

Indeed a blessing!!! The donors must feel you and yours have been a blessing in their lives to merit this. Have fun and keep up the good work.

How great to be debt free but even better to have friends and family like that.
You must feel an awful lot like George Bailey right about now
