My work permit was approved!!!
Well, after YEARS and thousands of dollars, my work permit was approved today.
Our interview for the permanent residency is on August 1st and I am told I should have all my cards and be able to work within 30 days.
Of course I'm absolutely thrilled. (If for no other reason than that in a few months when we're back on track I can maybe buy a new Kilt!)
I wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful people on here who have supported Diane and I through this whole process.
It's been a long slog, but absolutely worth it.

Fantastic Arlen, congratulations to both you and Diane. I have read of your toil and followed your odyssey and it's great to hear of your eventual success.

Congratulations, Arlen. Yes, it has been a slog but this is the goal you have worked so hard to reach and you must be feeling wonderfully relieved and happy. Smiles with you.

Congratulations, hope it all goes through well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Welcome to the working classes of the USA!
Your labor (and your taxes) will be most welcome.
Do you still wear your kilt regularly?
