St. Columba was the Irish missionary priest that did for Scotland what St. Patrick did for Ireland. In 563 AD he left Ireland for the Holy Isle of Iona and established his monastery.
My anglicized surname means follower of St. Columba. Pictured below I am wearing the commemorative St. Columba tartan designed by Peter MacDonald. The kilt is a single box pleat made by M. A. Columba Newsome. Today, I have to comply with uniform rules of my part-time employee so I am wearing a kaki Buzz Kidder kilt.
to St. Columba!
