Starting back to school in a week!
Well, my New Year's resolution for 2012 is to get my lazy rear in gear and finish my teaching degree. Just got the word from the state of Colorado on my state financial aid- they have awarded me 147 credit hours in grant money!! Happy New Year to me indeed!!

Good Grief that's a lot of credit hours! Congratulations to you Travis, that has to be nearly a full ride, right?

Congratulations, Hawk. Toward which direction of teaching would you like to end up going?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Except for my books, it is! Especially given the credit that I already have from my Associate's degree!I got that letter with the information, and just about fell off of my couch! (No exaggeration there, either!)

My goal is to get a master's degree in humanities, with a minor in world history, and teach secondary education- middle/high school. Just like my dear Papa.

Re: Starting back to school in a week!
Go for it. Of all the teachers I had, the two best were history teachers. I don't mean soft touches who had an easy class, I mean teachers who were engaging and made history matter.
By coincidence, two men named "Ernie". Souvapolis and Grekis. American and world history, respectively.
The lousiest teacher I had was a high school mathematics "teacher". Had to figure math out as an adult. Not that difficult when someone explains it properly! Well, to a point, anyway. I'm no physicist.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Way to go Nighthawk.
We need more male teachers out here. It may not pay a lot, BUT it is the most rewarding career EVER.

Congrats Travis, Teaching is the world's most important profession!
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.
