Weekend Plans
I plan to be kilted for three straight days this week:
1) Friday after work, I will be wearing my 5yd box pleat in a very casual way (t-shirt, scrunched down hose, and Doc Martin boots) to see the Motley Crue and Poison concert in Phoenix.
2) Saturday, I will be wearing my tank, semi-formal, with grey tweed jacket/waistcoat, and tie to my wifes' 20 year high school reunion.
3) Sunday, I will be wearing one of the above two kilts (haven't decided yet) semi-casual, with a polo shirt, for Fathers' Day brunch.
Yes, I know this is posted in the celebration zone, but hey, what better thing to celebrate than wearing the kilt.
And I know, before anyone says it, pictures or it didn't happen...I will get some up as soon as the weekend is over! I promise.

Day 1
Here is a pic from Friday night at the Poison and Motley Crue concert. Both bands put on a great concert! Sorry for the poor qualty picture, but the phone camera didn't work so well.
As a side note, I am wearing a 5yd box pleat in a 16oz Locharron Strome. It was 105 degrees in Phoenix when we arrived at 6:30pm, and still 95 degrees when we left at midnight. I was very comfortable wearing that much wool. It is really all about what you are used to.

Not hi-rez, but functional enough. A stage in the background, could be the alleged groups; a reasonably chuffed kilted gent in a tee, could be you. A better shot in the same kilt wearing the apparently new tee slung on shoulder might convince us.

So, the good news is that I wore my tank last night. Had it on, had a button-down shirt and tie on, decided it was too hot for the tweed, then my wife dropped the bomb...she didn't think the shirt and tie looked good with the kilt. She preferred the more casual look of a polo shirt. So I changed.
Anyway we stopped at a sushi restaurant for cocktails and appetizers. Within a minute of arriving and being seated, a woman walks up to our table and asks if she can take my picture. She explains that they just had guests in town from Scotland, and they had told her that she would never see someone in a proper kilt in Tucson. She planed on sending them the picture to prove them wrong.
On to the reunion, my wife had warned many of her friends that I would be in my kilt. So it didn't take long before complete strangers to me were coming up and introducing themselves. Most started with "Oh, you must be her husband..." Even when I wasn't anywhere near her.
So, the bad news...I never got any pictures. Only one at the sushi place, seated, no visible proof of the kilt. Unless that nice woman that took a picture send me a copy of the one she took. Sorry...

I also wore my kilt this past wekend... Father's Day (my first one... my son is almost 10 months old now). My fiance's family had a taco guy come by for an informal Father's day lunch.

The kilt is sagging a little in front of the tummy for two reasons... 1) I just stood up and 2) I have almost outgrown this kilt.
