I may not be a Gentleman , but honestly I like a light scotch with a cigar, like The Glenlivet 12yr with a Romeo y Julieta.
Oh great, guess what I'm going to be thinking of all day...

All cigars smoke different, even ones from the same box. You can kind of try to pair a strong cigar with a strong single malt, a mild with a mild and so on. This does not always work, but sometimes the combination has fantastic results.

The one you happen to have in your glass.

But if you happen to have a choice, I second Big Mikey. The flavor profile changes as you smoke.

Sip yours gingerly because the distillery either doesn't make it anymore, or Dalmore has decided to 'relabel' it as another type. I went to a scotch tasting last Wednesday that featured three Dalmores, and the rep said no more 'cigar' malts. BUT, the 1263 King Alexander III and the Gran Reserva were VERY good!

If the smoke is full flavoured, you need a light tasting single malt. you don't want the flavours to compete in your mouth. best yet, take a puff of your smoke, and taste in your mouth and figure out what would best to accompany it.

I am one of the few that believes water is the best drink to have with a Cigar.
