The Beerfest was a pretty amazing thing. There were booths from over 30 local microbreweries, each with two products on offer.
At the start everyone went running in with their small 5oz glasses and set of 10 tickets in hand, eyes gleaming with anticipation, like children on Christmas morning. So much on offer, so much variety, what to start with? By the time a couple hours and half your tickets were gone everyone was getting happy and many new friends were made!
It was, in my opinion, perfectly organized, just enough to drink (perhaps a bit too much) and plenty of variety (enough to be on the verge of overwhelming).
The only drawback, and it's a minor one, was that each brewery was able to offer only two products. So, some breweries made an IPA (which I was focusing on) but only had a lager and a pilsner on offer. Likewise many of the breweries made a stout but there were only one or two stouts to be seen, one a very interesting peanut butter stout, one a pumpkin stout.
