It's beginning to look a lot like...
...whiskey! It's all snowy and cold- what a great a night for a dram of Highland Park! It's supposed be winter all weekend! It's finally here. Time to celebrate the turning of the wheel of the year.

You're right! It's a brisk 71F this afternoon. When I get home I'll sip a bit to chase away the chill.

Well, it'll only be about 38 or so here, but that's pretty cool. And then, it's going to be really cold. . .somewhere. So . . .
I guess I'll pour a wee dram or two from my own Highland Park and contemplate the mysteries of life as well.
Great idea, Nighthawk. I shall drink to your health.

I would just settle for something that looked like winter. Here it is near the end of November and we are still having 80* weather.

Something about cold weather makes whisky all the more pleasant. Down here in South-Central Texas, in summer months I generally stick with drinking ales and citrus-based cocktails. Some of which will have bourbon in them, but mostly other "lighter" distilled spirits.
But when we got the first cold snap around Halloween with the first bit of frost, it became whiskey season for me. What a truly delightful combination, cold weather and whisky!

Since this time of year I generally drink indoors it doesn't really matter to me what the temperature is, as long as the bottle and a glass are with in reach. And the glass is really optional.

I've noticed that being OUTDOORS makes whisky taste good. Dunno why, but I like to take a nip at an outdoor Highland Games/Scottish Festival.
