N/A Whisky?!
Non-alcoholic whisky? Yes, it exists - and it's called "Arkay"!
My Dad, who has to abstain from alcohol due to health reasons - but is a Scotch lover - recently ordered a bottle of this stuff. His report: it's basically horrible straight, but a bit more palatable on the rocks. I have to get over to his house and try it myself - not that I'll be giving up the real thing!

Brian: Just what I've been looking for - a malt that is a bit more palatable than horrible, as long as I drink it on the rocks. Come to think of it, that's how I would describe most peated malts.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I imagine it's "malt free" as well as "alcohol free"....

My question is: Is this by definition actually a whiskey?
Here, we have "near beer" and it is not very good.
An old joke is that something like this is similar to making love in a canoe - It's F***** near water.

Good point, though I suppose the alcohol could be removed after distillation, eg with benzene.
There once was a girl named Irene
Who lived on distilled kerosene
But she started absorbin'
A new hydrocarbon
And since then she's never benzene!

The bottle/can states "Alcohol Free Whisky Flavored Drink" so, no, it is not by definition a whisky/whiskey.
