pooh bear?
One of my favorite restaurants has a drink they call a "Pooh Bear". It's vanilla ice cream, milk, a little honey, peanut butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon, all blended together to make a milkshake. A body could add a little Amaretto, if a body wanted to. I use frozen bananas in place of the ice cream and almond milk in place of the cow milk.
Any body here ever tried a concoction like this?

Sounds very good.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Re: pooh bear?
Funny, I tried something similar back when I was a hungry teenager. I could never get the peanut butter to blend. All it would do is clump to the bottom or side of the blender. When I would mash it down to the bottom where the blades are, it would either gum up the blades and bog the machine down, or the blades would just spin in the cavity of the peanut butter, without mixing it with anything else.
Surely there's some secret to getting peanut butter to blend (especially when it's cold, like when you're putting it in with ice cream), but I couldn't get it to work. Maybe I should try it again now that I'm grown and understand physics a little better.

Re: pooh bear?
It helps to break the lump of peanut butter up a bit with a spoon before blending; kind of poke crevasses in it for the milk to get into.
Which reminds me, Tobus, or any one. What is the type of liquid, like milk, that has one substance suspended but not dissolved in it? I used to know the term, and I can't seem to remember now.
* Never mind the term is "colloid."

Re: pooh bear?
At one time to get muscle mass, I would put pretty much anything in a blender and drink it. You think peanut butter is tough, try almond butter!
The secret is to blend everything but the peanut butter until it's relatively smooth. Cut the engine to low and add the peanut butter while it's still whipping around. Put the lid back on and put the spurs to it... it should blend.
My dad used to make milkshakes with chocolate ice cream, milk, peanut butter... and get this... wheaties cereal. Although with my serious milk and gluten problems, I dare not try it these days, back then it was ambrosia.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

I was thinking of the milk having fat in it, but couldn't remember the word.

I do use almond butter, Joshua. I have a Vita-Mix blender. It has a 3/4 hp motor and will grind up just about anything you put into it.
