    Pubs near to Porland, Oregon

I am traveling to Portland/Corvallis, Oregon next week (week of 1/15/18). Does anyone have any recommendations for pubs of note? Also interested in getting out on some short hikes if I find the time. First time in Oregon for me!
    Thanks,
    Marty

McMenamins is a fun small chain of pubs, where most of them are full of art and built in repurposed buildings like old schools and theatres. And the food and drink they have is really good too.

Forest park, in north Portland, has some great easy hike trails that loop around. You could spend all day there, or take a quick jaunt through the trees and be back in the city by a half hour.

    Hope your trip is grand!

Many good pubs in Portland. The Highland Stillhouse is one.

I was in Portland a few months ago for business, and we stayed downtown. It was a lot of fun for a few days, just being able to walk all over. There are tons of pubs and restaurants; I could spend months there just exploring them all. I really wanted to get around more in the Pearl district, but didn't have time. The street food vendors are plentiful and delicious!

Anyway, one that stood out in my mind was Al's Den at the corner of W Burnside and SW Stark St. It's a cosy little place with a warm atmosphere.

And if you're there, definitely walk half a block down 13th Avenue and see about Heart Pizza. When I was there in October, it was at 417 SW 13th Ave. I think it had just opened that location, though I can't find it on Google maps right now (it does show up on their street view but not on the map proper). Anyway, they make some pretty fabulous Neopolitan-style pizzas that will change your life. The fennel sausage pizza was to die for. I am seriously thinking of going back up there on holiday just to have some more local IPAs and that fennel sausage pizza from Heart Pizza. Seriously. I dream about that pizza.

The Horse Brass Pub is always good for a cold pint and some bangers and mash (peas, too.) It's on Belmont.

I wish I'd seen this a little earlier. Pubs are so plentiful in the Portland/Vancouver area that you'd be hard pressed not to find a good one! If you have time and see this before you leave the Portland area PM me and we'll touch base.
