    Scones in a can?

    Evening all,

Was out shopping for dinner when I noticed this on the shelf -

They also had cranberries. Here is them out of the can and baked up. I sprinkled a bit of raw sugar -

Not quite sure what to make of them but their on the menu for breakfast tomorrow.

    Hello Drac,

I like 'em with a few raisins or currants in them, or maybe best yet.........
made plain, and piled high with strawberry jam and clotted cream!! (buttered first, of course!)
make a wonderful part of "afternoon tea"

I just use the recipe that was in the second issue of Martha Stewart Living...quick and easy and somehow my family actually seems honored that I would get up early and go through the trouble.

One of my biggest problems, though, is finding a steady supply of currants...it's pretty hit and miss in these parts. I absolutely hate, detest, loathe and abhor raisins...always have,,,thus, currants are the ticket. Ocean Spray has recently done those cranberry-raisin things, Craisins, with a cherry flavor and those will be tried soon.

When I make scones I normally use the Bisquick recipe. Not perfect but darn good. Just adjust your fillings. Favorites are crasins (AA, give these a try if you don't like raisins), semi-sweet chocolate chips, and white chocolate & apricots.

The can ones were ok. A bit of a chemical after tatse.
