    scotch eggs

Made some Scotch Eggs tonight, used ground elk as base for my sausage. Do not really measure much but add salt, smoked paprika, smoke flavoring, tumeric, crushed red pepper flakes, and ground garlic, with ground onion, worcestershire sauce, and gluten free panko bread crumbs. Very tasty. My wife also made some frybread and cooked some pork ribs in our slow cooker. Quite an eclectic dinner.

Sounds tasty! I'm a big fan of Scotch Eggs - have to make them myself to get them gluten free. They make a great portable meal.

Oooh. I love scotch eggs and elk. Never thought of putting both together. Sounds great.

I'm a GF eater myself! I may attempt these as well.
But I don't have any ready available elk or venison so I'll improvise

Home made are by far the best. My wife makes hers with 50/50, quality sausage meat and stuffing. I know that they have dried cranberries in there somewhere.

But in my experience, shop bought taste as if someone has already eaten them.

I make these a few times every year. I've used venison or pork sausage in the past. Both are good options. I should try the panko crumbs sometime. I bet it adds a nice crunch to the outside.
