Summer drinks
It's about 500 F and 300% humidity here in Wisconsin right now. What do you guys go for when the summer heat rears its ugly head?
I've been enjoying a lot more mojitos as well as some lighter beers (German pils, blond ale, California Common, etc.) and a few G&T's from time to time.

There is a wine of some kind from the southern end of South America, I think "pisco" that is fabulous in sparkling water on hot summer days. I especially like it in a sour, but not so much in hot weather.
Marguerita on the rocks, not frozen, was a common go-to for me when I last summered in South Texas.

Like a nice mint julep in this heat personally. Also a big fan of light beers this time of year, especially some of the special "summer brews" that many microbreweries do this time of year.

Summer: Scotch, with ice
Winter: Scotch, neat
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

I had my first mojito on a beach in mexico a few years ago... Felt kind of decadent since it was 10am in the morning...
Have a friend in the UK that would likely suggest Pimm's...

In this heat, I also love Mojitos, Martinis (always have a vodka bottle in the freezer), Mint Juleps, and Scotch on rocks.
When I could drink beer, I made beer slushies. (put beer in the ice cream maker). When making beer, my summer beer in the desert was an extremely light beer with a hint of lemon. Alcohol was about 2%. You could drink dozens of these and not even catch a buzz. Awesome stuff.

margaritas (real, no nasty premixes)
mojitos
G&T (no ice, w/lemon)
The occasional New Glarus beer, Totally Naked is quite good in the summer heat.

If you're looking for a refreshing beer in the heat of the summer, try a hefewiezen (Widmer, Paulaner, Pyramid, Sierra Nevada, are my usual go-to brews) with a squeeze of fresh lemon. It is pretty refreshing when it's hot outside.
Another option is any of the very light Mexican beers with lime.
If you want something cold, try a frozen mud-slide. Not my thing, but my wife likes them.

My favourite is a nice cold Kokanee from Creston BC.
Nice and light, I've drank it since coming here.
It's taken the place of Tennants lager.
