    Talisker Storm

I heard about Talisker Storm about 2 weeks ago. Unable to wait until it got cross the pond I ordered several from The Whisky Exchange. Got here today.
First taste - someone dragged Islay ( think Laphroig ) up to Skye - deep peaty smoke and 'Oh yes" cask strength 91.6 proof, tip of tongue is now dead - added a few drops of water. Now a whole lot of notes pop up on nose and tougue - nose has fruity sweet, smoky and big peppery notes of Talisker 10 only deeper. Taste starts rich, mellow and sweet. Then the firey spice and smoke kick in! Very long, warm mellow peaty aftertaste. Cheers!

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

You're a better man than me, Gunga Chuck! I can't take those hairy-chested Hebridean malts laden with peat, phenol, carbolic acid, mammalian tissue preservatives, etc.

You must have paid a king's ransom for shipping, too. You don't have to say exactly, but was it a small fortune, a fortune, or a large fortune?

91.6% ! or "proof"? 91.6% is over 193 proof! If so, I could put a teaspoon in a Mason jar and then fill it up with water. That might make it both affordable and drinkable to me.

I hope you enjoy it. And, don't forget to pump the air out of the open bottle, ... or just drink it all at one time to save the trouble.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

My delivery from the Whisky Exchange arrived as I was finishing my Spencer jacket tailoring. Kept me in suspense for nearly an hour until I got done.

mookien - proof - I was excited when I wrote it - only off by a factor of two?
Cost was 99.88 pounds for 3 bottles. Shipping 52 pounds. Total US$ 233.29 or $77.76/bottle - about the same as Talisker 10yr.

Singlemalt, Mookien is within driving distance. You can get it about as fast from the exchange. Ordered 28th, here on the 4th. Tax free here (under the limit) am unsure of the Canadian tax game from London.

I did say long finish - an hour later and it still lingers.... Definitly from the deep end of the peat bog.
