As requested in that other thread, describe or explain your favorite sandwich.
* Alternative forms of sandwich count too, as in rolled or wrapped in bread or something like that.

Hmm....That's a tough one! If I had to choose though, it would have to be a Pastrami with provalone and mustard!

If I am going to go all out I start by toasting the bread. I am partial to the honey/oat/nut variants between pure white and whole wheat.
A thin bed of fresh Boston lettuce.
One chicken lobster, about 1.25# on the hoof, steamed seven minutes, picked and diced fine. Pile the lobster on a plate, combine with an infant sized pinch of good salt, one twist of good white pepper, the merest dash of good yellow mustard, and just enough mayo to hold it together.
Spoon the lobster salad onto the lettuce.
Top with three slices of bacon, not too crispy. More lettuce. The other piece of toast. Slice on the diagonal, serve with a decent domestic champagne.
This recipe was a birthday present to me from a delightful patient many years ago. The bacon elevates it from ho-hum lobster roll to a chaste ecstasy.

I'm a simple man.
Any multigrain bread will do. Tomato slices, Gouda cheese and ripe avocado, salt and pepper to taste and mayonnaise.

I don't think I could pick one favorite sandwich but I will have to say that when offered a grilled cheese sandwich, I would never refuse

Much like Douglas Adams' Arthur Dent, I could happily spend my life as a sandwich maker.
For a picnic or a break from yard-work: Cheese (sharp Cheddar) and pickle on light wheat.
For lunch on a cold day: a grilled turkey, ham, swiss, red onion, and Dusseldorf mustard on a dark, whole grain.
Saturday afternoon's football match: muffaletta. I've included a link for our non-US friends who may not have had the transcendent experience of this particular sandwich. I heartily encourage it.
A warm evening's light dinner: BLT (bacon extra crispy), with white onion grated into the mayo on a caraway rye
A winter's evening: Shaved rare roast beef au jus on small french baguette.
Cocktails: Cannibal sandwich- raw ground sirloin, served with diced red onion, diced cocktail onion, and non-pareil capers on the side for garnish, with grey sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, all served on dark pumpernickel cocktail bread.
The list goes on and on, but if I continue I may need to go make a sandwich (not in anger ) and it's only 0630 here!

Well there used to be a little "hole in the wall" in the center of Aberdeen called Carmines that made great pizza... if i fold that in half can i claim it's a sandwich?
Or then there was that kebab shop that made really good doner kebabs... sliced reprocessed lamb that is spit roasted vertically and sliced off... cabbage... onions... tomatoes... and dont forget the chilli sauce all wrapped up in a pitta bread...
But then there was a small sandwich shop that made a chicken and humus roll that was pretty good... Why do i suddenly feel hungry???
