    What about Teflon coating?

    Heya,
I'm checking out tartans and material for a new kilt. I'll go with a no-clan tartan and with wool 16oz.

I've seen it before but now I actually started wondering what the Rabble thinks about Teflon coated wool.

Do you feel or see a diverence?
    Does it really work?
What do you think about it in general?

    Cheers

I would highly recommend getting the teflon coating. For an example, the first time out in my new Isle of Skye teflon coated 4 yd box pleat I was seated at a table in a restaurant eating a delicious salad. A piece of tomato covered with salad dressing dropped onto my kilt. To say I was horrified is putting it mildly. However, the lady to my right dipped her napkin in her water glass and proceeded to lift the offending tomato from the kilt and with just a very brief swish of the wet napkin my kilt looked as good as new, which it was.
I do not think that the teflon affects the cloth in any way except to make it simple to clean.

I've never had any major spills, but I've never had a problem with plaids lacking the teflon. Gonna be changing the oil? ymmv

I don't think you have a choice with Marton Mills on the Jura; (their 16 oz.) tartan. But I have heard nothing but good things about it. I have a bolt next to me to unwrap and will give my opinion on it soon...

AND...I think the teflon coating is a good protection against moths. Or am I going wrong in this?
