17th century market wallet
Recently I made a nice 17th century style market wallet, these used to be very common among soldiers or townsfolk in the 17th - 18th century for carrying food and personal belongings . The one I made is of double linen and is very strong and very comfortable to wear - great for carrying some shopping or even books . There are lots of sites on the net explaining how to make them. A great first sewing project as they are very easy to make.

I believe that bags for carrying wares are the preferred method over the use of baskets (expect for the vender that wants to maintain the integrity of their goods for display). Good of you to show another item used everyday that would relate to kilting.
