    1st attempt at garter ties

Well money being a little tight at the moment, i didnt think the wife would appreciate me springing for a set of flashes to go with the macpherson hunting kilt, so in the best traditions of Scots everywhere, i figured that i could make them...

Never knitted before in my life, and i'm not sure the wonder knitter counts as knitting, but it was fairly easy to use...

I think the results are ok... not sure what i'm going to do with the rest if the ball of wool... anyone want some garter ties?

Pics when i figure out how... must be an faq somewhere...

I Like! Made some myself a while back out of ribbon and tassels; but I like yours much better. As for the rest of the yarn, make another pair or two, you probably will get better results and be more pleased. to quote my grandfather " got to get a good scour on the plow to really plow a furrow".

    Cheers! ith:

For a first shot they look awesome. I would leave the end strands a bit longer and also unwind them. Just my 2p worth.

Pretty darn nice. Good choice for color. Red and blue are the two colors that you can't go wrong with. One of them almost always works with the rest of what you're wearing.

I saw one of those Wonder Knitter thingamabobs and almost bought it just for stuff like that. Some would call it "cheating" but I call it using a different tool to get the job done.

Nice. I do knit and they look great, first time or not. I would also suggest a little longer on the tassels but that's about it. Do keep practicing and you'll find that your tension starts to even out.

    Great job!
