So my little sisters begged me to make them kilt styled X-skirts after seeing my last X-Kilt. I flipped the pattern, shrunk the pleat width, and immediately got to work, sewing like mad. The first one (purple), took me about 1.5 days, 14 hours of work total. The second (burgundy) took just over 1 day, 12 hours of work. I took a few photos (obscuring faces and such, for privacy ) My next project will be a black X-kilt for my oldest brother, and I'm not sure what will come after that. Both of my little sisters were thrilled to receive these, especially because they expected it to take much longer. ^_^ (FYI, the little bit of crinkling near of the waistband on the last image is just because she needs to practice putting it on a bit more. it's normally smooth. ;P)
How wonderful!! The kilts look great and the fact that you are making them for your siblings is even greater! Well done all around.
I love the burgundy colore? What material is that?

That's the Target Bottomweight from Jo-Ann's. Cotton / Poly. It's definitely a nice color; I used it for my most recent kilt, looks fantastic.
