    Annular Brooch....

Well, it's come to my attention that I just can't sit idle. So, while bored tonight I turned once more to fire and tongs. This time to make an annular brooch.
I started with carbon steel. Some fire and hammering later I have a textured brooch. I made two recesses on either side to aid in pin retention. For now a sharpie is acting as placeholder.
Soon, a prong of whitetail antler will take its place.

    Nice Workmanship

The pen idea is classic. I will tuck that away in my idea vault as it is an easy attachment and no pin holes! Might want to use something other than a pen with a clip on one end but yes, could jsut turn clip to underside and wa-la, for us modest investors, you could easily pull it off!

Well, I got tired of having a pen for a stand in pin so I got out some brass stock and fixed it.
My first attempt ended badly, with hot brass crumbling on my anvil. Still not 100% happy with this pin, but it's better than the alternative.

I'm not sure what you're unhappy about with that pin. It looks great!
