Wow, now that's impressive work! Would you mind a couple of posts with your experience and commentary on the process? I thing it would be fascinating, even if I probably will never try it myself. Again, well done, sir.

It has pleased me greatly to see your user name back in current use, and now, to see you are still being the
consummate craftsman I am muchly gratified. Beautiful work. Visually similar to my favorite pair of shoes I
ever wore, though you put more into one of the heels than went into the shoes I could get.

    Magnificent shoes.

Thank you to Douglas mor and tripleblessed. I check in now and again. Post now and again. Always interested

    Blupiper...

Thank you. There is a thread here somewhere in which I did a detailed expose' of how shoes are made...maybe three pages long and chock full of photos, as I recall.

FWIW, the buckle in the first photo is a reproduction. The buckle on the shoes where I'm wearing them is an 18th or early 19th century buckle sourced for me by the head shoemaker at Colonial Williamsburg. German silver.

I've posted these before but maybe no harm in posting them again...

Everything in the following photos I made...and for myself.

    Ebony and ivory
