    Center Back Pleat

Oh man....what have I gotten myself into.
I've left the relatively safe world of sold color kilts and pleating to the stripe to brave the horrors and tribulations of pleating to the sett..

How in the heck do you find the location of the back center stripe?
I'm looking in Barbs book and it says on page 56 para. 1, to "locate the chalk mark "X" that you made earlier at the approximate center back."
Well, I've looked and looked and I can't find anywhere where this was mentioned earlier in the book. How does this work? How do you estimate the approximate center back?
It don't mean a thing, if you aint got that swing!!

IIRC, that step is done (marking the center back stripe) when first laying out the material...i.e. an early step in the process....

yes it is. Basically that X that is being referenced is the center (4 yards into an 8 yard strip, for example) you pick the stripe nearest that that you want for the center.
