    Dirk Sheath

I found a basket weave tool that looks a lot like the basket weave on dirk and sgian dhu handles the other day. I love to try my hand at new things, so, I made myself a sheath for my old dirk. I am thinking about doing a limited edition sporran with the same basket weave. Haven't made up my mind yet. I just wanted to show the sheath off!

    Beautiful work Donnie.

    I also like the background!
That looks like the Hay Ancient tartan? Is it PV or wool?
(I have a PV Hay Ancient and wear it often to outdoors events)

Whew. I saw the subject of your thread--"Dirk Sheath"--and read it as "Dirk Skene." I thought we had an X-er down and Donnie was putting out a call for backup.

I was packing the kilt and a flask of 21 year-old when I opened the message and realized it was my reading ability that needed help, not ole Dirk.

Think I'll just dring the scotch myself while I recuperate.

That looks really good. You could almost swear that the leather was weaved/woven (?) into that pattern.

A_Hay; That is the Hay Ancient Tartan. The piece of material is wool, I have a PV Ancient Hay 8 yd kilt I wear a lot. I got it about 4 years ago from Bear Kilts.
PS: Thank everyone for the compliments. I'm just having fun with my leather work!
