I really enjoyed making this. Unfortunately I won't be wearing it due to the fact that I made it for an auction next week at the Clan Donnachaidh Northeast AGM. I will be making two more and have the cantle materials for them. My stepson will be getting his first kilt and I will make him a similar sporran in black leather with a nickel silver cantle and I think the other will be for me.
Awesome - I love everything about it. Gonna be googling some metal working for sure. I saw your list of tools and equipment youposted in the other thread and I guess I got some shopping to do but I'll get there eventually. Thanks for posting!

My Leatherwork Album - Feel free to look and critique - I'm just learning leather and welcome all help.
A mink coat that was from my wife's side of the family is the donor. It's a 3/4 length coat so I have a lot of mink. I like to repurpose when I can. All the leather was from the scrap bin at Tandy. I did splurge and bought a suede hide for the inside. There is no reserve at the auction so someone could possibly get a good deal on this.
Very, very nice! The construction details are very well executed, and it has a nice clean look to it. Count me impressed!
The only thing I would offer as constructive criticism is that the screws you used on the inside of the hinge appear to be zinc-plated (or galvanized, I can't tell). Those will create a corrosion problem over time. Being in contact with brass and leather, plus the moisture associated with wearing it, will lead to rust. Is it possible to find brass screws of that size?
