This is followup on the makeover of a dress sporran I bought from Heritage of Scotland. The original post is here: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...akeover-70892/ The sporran had bright chrome cantle and I wanted to make it look pewter antique. I also redid a belt buckle to match. The following photos show the final look. I can live with it as it is much toned down from the shiny chrome. I uses gold and silver liquid leaf for metal and sprayed it with a clear matte coating. The matte coating actually helped the gold come out giving more of an older antique look. I also found a triskel or triskelion necklace that I modified and added to the cantle. I also wear a triskel medalion around my neck that I bought in Scotland. Ill have to see how durable this modification of the look of the metal will be. Next I have to hit the craft and hardware stores and find some pewter chain for the sporran strap. comments good and otherwise appreciated.

Wow! Huge improvement! Pic from your original thread: The Triskele looks like an original element of the cantle.
Very nice brewerpaul.
