    First Kilt, X-Kilt

I don't know if that'll work, I've never tried using Picasa before, if not, here is a link to the album...

Yeah... I've been lurking here forever, downloaded the X-Kilt plans like a year ago, bought a sewing machine last fall, and finally made it last weekend.

Looks pretty good. What type of material did you use? It appears to have a nice drape to it.

Its a poly-cotton twill from Hancock fabrics. I don't have any clue on weight or anything.
The fabric was wide enough that I can easily make my second. This one I have already shortened (cut off from the wasteband side) and fiddled with the aprons a bunch, so I know a few things I want to do differently next time. After wearing it out and about I think I want to do a wider apron, something that will land on top of my hip bones, maybe even hide a slash pocket under one side. I'm not at all worried about traditional, just style and comfort so if I make mods that cause someone to deem it a skirt so be it, lol.

    Well done.

You've already laid claim to making a second... so get busy...

    And let's see it.

grrr, I want to make my own so bad! I just need to bite the bullet and go for it. You've done a great job here, NoScotchAtAll, and it inspires me to start on my own as well.

How long did it take to make your kilt? I always think about getting a sewing machine and giving it a shot myself, but don't know if I can actually set aside the time. Did you do it all in a single weekend? I'm impressed...I'm not sure I could actually do it myself. Well done.
