    First sporran

Well, not really, I made one when I was 17, but that was a couple of decades ago. What's everyone think of this one?

Wow! That is nice. It's got a very rich medieval fantasy look to it. Nice work.

I hadn't thought of using ray skin for a sporran. Very nice!

Thanks guys. I'm always my worst critic, and I didn't expect to be happy with it, but so far I am. I do wish I'd made it a hair bigger so I could more easily fit a Streamlight Scorpion in there, but it will fit at an angle. I wore it at an SCA event last weekend and people couldn't keep their hands off the stingray. Fortunately I'm known for being rude, crude, and socially unacceptable, so random women fondling that area didn't cause a scene.

The sporran belt I was using came with a cheap, poorly made sporran that I only bought for the strap. It was so bad that I just cut the chain off the leather and threw together new leather bits on short notice. Now that I have more time I'll rework it with heavier leather, dyed better, probably with some tooling and stamping.
