    First X-kilt almost done

There will be better pictures soon, but here's a first look. The only thing left to do now is add cargo pockets

    20140601_224237-3picsay.jpg

It's made of a 9oz poly/cotton satin weave of sorts (it's called "varpsatin" in Swedish and is used for army uniforms here), really easy to work with and keeps the pleats well. The pattern is M90 camo, probably the first M90 kilt in existence

I think I underestimated my rump size an inch or so, that'll be a lesson for my next kilt, but it still fits pretty well.

    Here are some better pictures:

I think it looks great. Nice job! And that fabric...OMG, so completely awesome. I'd give my right arm to get my hands on a few kilts worth of that stuff.

Great job enemix, looking forward to the total reveal on your work from all sides!

and Bob, don't give your arms, you wouldn't be able to continue that fine Kiltmaking you do......

Thanks! Will add more pics as soon as it's finished.

The fabric itself is not that expensive, about 18 USD per metre. However, shipping it across the pond is. If you decide that it's worth it, PM me and I'll see what I can do. I must agree with Hawk though, you're better off with your arms still in place

    New pictures are up!

Promised you some better pictures, now I deliver.

I decided to ditch the cargo pockets idea and ordered a nylon sporran from Stillwater instead, now I'll just have to wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive

Coming from the father of the X-kilt himself I take that as a huge compliment

And I thank you very much for the great tutorial! I've made a kilt before using instructions from Instructables and while it turned out okay, it wasn't nearly as well-fitting as this one.
