    just sewed up some flashes

My daughter is getting married next month. I bought the tux kilt for the wedding. Today I sewed up some flashes using the tutorials here (thank you) and some grosgrain ribbon.

Now to sew up another kilt......

Nice work. I like the black and white combo.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Nice DIY work and I'm loving the tux kilt!

Given that much contrast, however, you might want to see how they look at a shorter length. As pictured, yours might get the dreaded "windsock" response! Check out this thread for a discussion of flashes length with some good example photos.

Hope the wedding goes off beautifully!

Thank you. I was wondering myself if they were a bit too long. maybe another inch off? easy to do ;-)

Flash length is a personal choice (and, as noted in that other thread, may vary based on your hose turnover and other factors) but based on your photo, I might fold them up so only about 1.5 inch is showing -- see what you think -- adjust the length temporarily until you find what you like, then do the permanent adjustment.
