Those are some bold color choices!
What heel pattern do you use for toe-up? Yours looks a bit more durable than the Fleegle heel that I've been using, although I love the Fleegle's simplicity. And Bob doesn't kilt up enough for me to be too worried about them wearing through. Still, options are good.

I've used that Fleegle heel, but it wasn't called Fleegle. I work up through the gusset increases, then work a heel flap over 1/3 of the total sts that I had before the gusset increases. I like the Eye of Partridge st for the heel flap. My heel flaps are usually 2 1/2" long, since I wear a size 12 shoe. (I assume you don't wear a size 12 men's shoe, so your heel flaps will probably not need to be that long, but Bob's might.) When the heel flap's finished, and ended on a K row, I pick up half as many sts on each side of it as there rows in the heel flap. The heel flap for the orange hose is 16 rows long, so I picked up 8 sts along each side of the flap. K the 8 sts you've just picked up, wrap the first st on the next needle, turn, sl the 1st st that you just knitted from the picking-up, and p across the row. P the sts you picked up along the opposite side of the heel flap. Wrap the first st of the next needle, turn, sl the 1st st on the heel flap needle, which will now have approx. 3 times as many sts as it had two rows ago, and work Eye of Partridge pattern across. When you get to the last st on the heel flap needle, ssk it with the 1st st on the next needle (the one you wrapped). Wrap the next st, turn, slip the 1st st, (which is the one you just ssk'ed) and p across to the last st on the heel flap needle. P2tog with the 1st st from the next needle, wrap the next st, turn, slip the first st (the one you just p2tog'ed) and k the pattern across, working the ssk decrease at the end of the k row and the p2tog decrease at the end of the p row.
It's much easier to do than it is to explain.

You're right about the color choices. I wanted to work this cable pattern on a fall-colored sock. (I could say "autumnal", but here in the southern Appalachians we like to use as many words as we can.) I don't know if I'll keep these hose; I might try to sell them to somebody who wears a tartan with some orange in it.

I didn't understand much of that, but I do now you knit some great hose. I still value the ones you made for me above all the others.
I can't wait to see these on a leg.

I really do like the contrasting cuff. It is a style that we just don't see enough of.
