Kilt pins
Hi all,
I'd like to share with you some pictures of my new kilt pins, one of them is DIY, second one bought in a web auction for little money. Both of them have strong connection to the tartan which I am proud to wear - the Czech National.
DIY one is made from former charm, I removed the loop, sewed on a round piece of leather, which I stuck and pinned together with a black shield-shaped piece of leather. The sign is Two-tailed Lion Rampant, it is a small version of Czech Coat of Arms. Technically, it is not the best hand crafting, but I am still a newbie here

Second one was bought in web auction - it might be quite old, but unfortunately, I don't know the details about it. The sign from brass represents three lime leaves. Lime is the national tree of the Czech Republic and this sign has also another meaning for me - strong connection to history of the Czech Republic - three historical counties - Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.

The last picture is comparison of these two kilt pins. I like them for their meaning since I am proud to be Czech!
I hope you will find them nice, too.

Very nice, and far more significant when they have special meaning for you. This give you an additional conversation piece when you are asked about your kilt.

Very sharp. I never looked at this particular tartan before but it is really nice! The pins stand out.

Same goes for tartan, too.

Jiri,
Those are great! I am saving up for a custom run of Czech National Tartan. I have been wanting a Czech related kilt pin for some time. I have been thinking of using a coin in some way. I also would like to find the Moravian eagle on something as my paternal grandparents where from that region, Novy Jicin.

Silver Eagle
Today I found a silver Moravian eagle in a web auction. It is a silver (Ag 925/1000), 34 mm long and 3.68 g charm. Would you be interested? I can buy it for you and send in a pack to you. The rest of work to make a kilt pin would be on you :-) It is the easier way for you, I think - I have an account and the seller is not shiping to foreign countries. The price is 360 Czech crowns, i.e. 18 USD.
