Latest hunting sporran hot of the board

This is my attempt at a somewhat decorative hunting style sporran. I used scrap leathers and a lovely little piece of japanese deer skin that I had left over from an old Samurai armour display. The dark tuff of hair at the top formed a heart and I thought that was worth highlighting. I have not added any studs as yet and I'm thinking it looks a little drab as it is. What do the members think?

It looks great. Love the deer skin colors and the "Basket weave" on part of the leather. I think I would fringe the leather from the "Bells". (sorry, don't know the correct names) Love the fact that part of it came from Samurai armour.

I do not understand the "drab" comment you made concerning studs. This is a very nice piece. Highlight with polished stones or bone would be my suggestion if you want more. Personally, I would leave it as is.

Thank you for your suggestions Tess. I had considered a five tassel approach to this sporran but chose the blade style as I was running out of matching leather. The basket weave was used as a textural device to highlight the blades a little more.
perhaps I will brush up on my round braiding technique for the next one.

Thank you Tarheel. I have never thought of stones. That could be cool. Check out the other sporrans I posted earlier. See what you think of them.

Err, it seems as though the only photo link in the original post is that of the interior of the sporran. Yet the dialog here suggests that there were more photos of the outside originally posted. Am I missing something (besides the images )?

It seem the images are all grouped together in one line. Click on #4 and see if that works.

I see now. I took a look at your creation, and must say it is a very handsome sporran indeed! Just the kind of styling I prefer. Lovely job.
