I finished the targe and assembled the lochaber axe. The axe is mounted to a 6 foot pole. I think they turned out ok. I will be using these items as well as others at my clan tent this year. I noticed that tents with weapons and historical items get more visitors.
The Lochaber axe is nicely done. The targe, however, is freakin' GORGEOUS!!!

Lochaber axe! (DROOL)
Very nice items. And from where did the Lochaber ax come? Did you forge it yourself?

Looking really good Harold and I think you are correct about weapons and the amount of punters in your tent. All the best for the upcomming season, I am sure you will have a fantastic one. Cheers

amazing work. about the only thing i can make is toast.
The lochaber axe began life as a brush ax blade. I took it to a local machine shop and had them re-cut the shape and the weld the two shaft sockets on the back.
