    MacPherson Modern Hunting Kilt

This is the fourth kilt I've made, my first one out of tartan. It is MacPherson Modern Hunting, 6 yards, pleated to the sett. I made it for my grandson. The pleats are still basted, so you'll see some white threads.

The plan is to make four out of this tartan--for my two sons and two grandsons.

I've always liked the blue stripe in that tartan.

I was inspired by the many fine photos of the tartan on XMarks. It helped a great deal to see what kilts in Hunting look like.

Well, you did an outstanding job. I especially like your choice of using only two straps and buckles, as the third is superfluous and purely decorative in my opinion.

    Cheers,
