    Making A Sporran.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but this vintage film showing how a handcrafted sporran is made is very fascinating and informative. I plan on making an identical one for myself via this video:

That video helped me out a lot as well. Wish I had those tools and a little of that skill would help as well.

Yes, that is a great film and that man was certainly a master of his craft. Were you aware that our own Artificer has made his own version of that sporran? See his thread, A Movie Star Returns to Life, or something like that. Good luck on your project, and I look forward to seeing the results.

Actually I saw his new sporran on his website I think. Interesting watching the whipping being done around the piece. He is a master to be sure. I'll be watching for some of your work as well.

    That was pretty cool.

Would have been nice to have some sound and/or narration, though.

Cheers. I'm certain that the Artificer example is a real Jim Dandy. However I'm a longtime leathercrafter, and skilled in making my own sporrans.

I'll post photos as soon as it is done.

Mike, I`ve no doubt you are up to the task, just thought you might like to see how Scott`s version turned out. I`ll be looking forward to seeing yours, and enjoy the making!
