New coat
Greetings all,
My Lady and I found a tweed suit coat at Goodwill for $10, and Maggi said she would try to alter it into a kilt coat. it turned out to have a very low gorge, so the curve at the front suffered from the placement of the lower button hole. We are in negotiations for epaulets and / or Prince Charlie type sleeve additions, and possibly raising the pocket flaps for a better look.
That said, I think Maggi did an excellent job with her first attempt. I debuted the coat this past Palm Sunday.

I'm always happy when others find "treasures" at thrift stores. Sorry to hear about the button placement issue, but think the conversion looks fine. Good luck with the pocket flaps and epaulets. I'm sure all will be well in the end.
Also, great color with your kilt.
