Not exactly related to wearing the kilt but...

So I am a male who knits and I ordered a set of knitting needles that came in a pink pouch that I could not see myself using. I decided to design my own bag made out of felted color work. The pictures don't really capture the color combinations well. The pattern of the tree was my doing and not from a pattern. I am posting this because I am considering doing something similar with wool and using it for the front of a sporran, perhaps using the same process I used for the tree but with a thistle. I am open to other suggestions!

I think it looks fantastic. A thistle in similar style would look nice on a sporran.

Very nice, and the sporran idea is interesting as well; I imagine it could turn out with a similar look and feel to the various tweed sporrans I've seen now and then! I've been keeping an eye out for an old Doctor's satchel to use as a bag to store needles and projects-in-progress, but it occurs to me that the strip of tartan I have left over from making my kilt would be perfect for this kind of needle case.

Very cool idea of the Doctor's satchel! I currently use a military nylon "range bag" for my larger project bag.
