Opinions on a new version of livery cockade??????????
We are all probably familiar with Lord Murray's white jacobite cockade. I decided to see what it would look like done up in alternating livery colors. What does the Rabble think?
Here is Lord Murray's

Here is my livery version. The pins are there just to help it lay flat. I also thought about putting a small square of tartan behind it to fill the empty space of the bow.

I have also contemplated one made in the colors of my arms which are red, yellow, black, and white. Any opinions?

Whilst I have no doubt that it is very cleaver to make that and far beyond my meagre skills, I think this and most coloured cockades are rather brash. Sorry Harold, but you did ask.

I do understand Jock. Livery cockades aren't for everyone.
I do plan on a solid white one when I get a hand knit blue bonnet.

May I ask what the attraction of a white cockade is to you?

Love it , the livery colors are a great idea to most highland wear , as we do not see people showing there colors much anymore.
so you may re start a trend. Great idea Harold - keep them coming !

Jock, I think that a simple white cockade just looks better on a lighter blue bonnet. It has some historical value but to me it just looks better.

I like the construction. Very clean. But it made me want to shout, "Go Hawks!"; much to the dismay of my alma matre, Iowa State University (the Cardinal and Gold Cyclones--not the Black and Gold Hawkeyes).

Harold, how do you envision the cockade being attached to the bonnet - stitched at the central knot or by the ribbons?
Regards
Chas
