    Planning an everyday sgian dubh

As it is, I always have a boot knife. So I though, why not put a little work in and have an everyday sgian dubh? So I snagged a set of antlers for the handle... WAY too big. But I'll find another use for them, well, a use other than this...

So I'm trading with a buddy for a cast off from a young buck to make my knife...
I'll post when actual work starts, and not just shennannigans.

They dont look too big.... You'll need an idea of how wide the blade is to see how wide the handle needs to be... IIRC you're likely to be an inch to an inch and a quarter with your handle being a little bigger maybe...

So, I got a new antler. It was a shed off a young whitetail. Looking at my boot knife, looking at the antler I think I have a good fit. The crown on the others was just way too darn big, but theyd be great for a dirk handle.

Tonight I'll see if I can dig up some brass and get to work.

Thinkin' y' look kinda hip with antlers.

Most people 'round here who have antlers work at Fermilab or the nuclear power plant.

    LOL!

The only people I know with antlers are the local LARPers ;)

not hating, by the way. I'd totally LARP if I had LARP friends. ...maybe once or twice...

Tried a couple LARPs back in the day. It was fun....
    Ok.. Finished product.

I have steps along the way, just wrapping up for tonight. Last night and the night before I worked doubles. Tomorrow when I'm more lucid, I'll do a step by step.
